CAIRO – 9 October 2017: Cairo Criminal Court, headed by judge Abdeltawab Ibrahim, continued listening to the demands of the defense for theformer speaker of the Shura Council, Safwat El-Sherifand his sons,in corruption charges for using his public post for personal gain, El Sherouk reported on Monday.

The defense of el-Sherif submitted proof to the court that el-Sherif gave up fourpieces of lands in Fayed City in Ismailia governorate, whichwereworthLE 44 million ($2.5 million),Masrawy mentioned on Monday.

Additionally, the defense submitted official papers proving that all the procedures taken in the properties of el-Sherif and his family members are legally accurate.

Cairo Court of Appeals, headed by judge Sery el-Gamal, will start the trial in the last session after it received the case from the Court of Cassation. The court canceled the decision to jail el-Sherif forfiveyears and adding a fine of LE 2,090,700.The court also decided to restart the trial again in another court.
