CAIRO – 16 September 2017: The Conference of Civilization Interaction between USA & Muslim World, which is organized by the Muslim World League (MWL), kicked off on Saturday in New York.

The two-day conference is seeing the participation of a large number of religious, academic, intellectual, political and media personalities from the Muslim world, the U.S. and Europe, according to the official website of the MWL.

A total of 450 scholars are participating in the conference, which tackles world peace and the cultural and humanistic interrelationship between the American citizens and the Muslim world, according to one of the participants.
The conference also discusses the civilization of Islam and its pioneering historical experience of global openness, and of the cultural exchange concepts, said the MWL Secretary General in a statement.

“Cultural communication is very vital among all nations, particularly between the U.S. and the Islamic World,” said Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais during the conference.

Sudais added that counter-terrorism is one of the objectives of the cultural communication, noting that all people should disseminate this culture.
