The Day of Independence (also known as the Cry of Dolores) is the day of the revolt against “Spaniards” on September 16, 1810, when father Miguel Hidalgo gave a historic speech, motivating people to fight against Spanish soldiers in Mexico. Hidalgo was captured during the War of Independence and executed. Mexico was declared independent on September 28, 1821.
