CAIRO – 10 September 2017: The Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, Ambassador Hamdi Sanad Loza, presided over the Egyptian delegation during the fourth meeting of the African Union High-Level Committee (AUHLC) on the Libyan crisis held in Brazzaville, Congo, on September 9.

Loza reviewed the efforts Egypt has exerted to help Libya to reach a political solution for its crisis referring to the several meetings held in Cairo in the recent months that made Libyan parties hold a dialogue including the meeting held in September that resulted in reaching a consensus to amend a political agreement for the disputes among Libyan parties.

Since the crisis in Libya arose in 2011, the African Union has made diplomatic efforts to reach a political settlement in Libya by forming an ad-hoc high-level committee on Libya to reach reconciliation between all Libyan stakeholders.
