Pope Tawadros meets with Sydney's Copts

SYDNEY - 2 September 2017: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese met on Saturday with Sydney's Copts who were marking Father's Day.

Father's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of September.

At least 5,000 Copts were present at the meeting.

The pontiff arrived here from Japan last week on his first papal visit to the country since his inauguration in 2012.

During his Australia visit, Pope Tawadros laid down the foundation stone of a number of Coptic churches.
