Health: Egypt population to hit 128 m if current birth rate continues

CAIRO - 16 August 2017: Health Minister Ahmed Emad al Din said on Wednesday that Egypt's population would reach about 128 million in 2030 if birth rate continues to rise.

The birth rate reached 3.5 babies for every women of childbearing age, Emad al Din noted.

The minister said that in case of increasing birth rate to reach four babies for every women, the population of Egypt would be about 140 million persons in 2030.
