Egypt extends condolences to Qatar over civilian casualty from military operations

CAIRO - 29 June 2026: Egypt extended its formal condolences to Qatar following the death of a Qatari citizen killed by shrapnel from ongoing military operations in the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a Monday official statement.

The military incident also resulted in injuries to a local resident. Cairo conveyed its deep sympathies to the victims' families alongside official wishes for a swift and complete recovery for the wounded individual.

Reaffirming its total solidarity with Doha, Egypt renewed its absolute rejection of any military actions that endanger civilian lives or threaten Middle East security.

The foreign ministry emphasized the critical urgency of sustaining international diplomatic efforts to lower regional escalations, reinforce truces, and safeguard civilian populations across the region.
