Egypt condemns drone attacks targeting Bahrain, affirms full solidarity

CAIRO – 27 June 2026: Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the attacks targeting Kingdom of Bahrain using Iranian drones, describing them as a violation of Bahrain's sovereignty, a threat to its security and stability, and an unacceptable escalation that undermines efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

Bahrain had earlier accused Iran of launching a number of drones at the Gulf kingdom, saying the attacks constituted a blatant violation of its sovereignty, a serious threat to the security of citizens and residents, and a flagrant breach of international norms and conventions that prohibit targeting civilian objects and terrorizing civilians.

Egypt said the attacks come at a time when regional efforts are moving forward to consolidate a path of de-escalation and stability, underscoring the need to refrain from any actions that could inflame tensions or undermine efforts to strengthen regional security and peace.

Egypt reiterated its full solidarity with Bahrain and all the sisterly Gulf states, and its complete support for any measures they take to preserve their security and stability, affirming that it stands with Bahrain in confronting all threats to its security and territorial integrity.
