CAIRO - 25 June 2026: The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2026, which measures universities' performance based on their contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, has been released.
The results show that 45 Egyptian universities are included in the latest 2026 edition, along with an improvement in the rankings of Egyptian universities within the various categories.
The Egyptian universities' rankings are as follows:
Aswan University and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport are ranked between 101 and 200.
Alexandria University is ranked between 201 and 300.
Assiut University, Benha University, Cairo University, and Mansoura University are ranked between 301 and 400.
Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport
The ranking included the following universities in the 401-600 range: Ain Shams University, Delta University for Science and Technology, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, New Giza University, Suez Canal University, and Suez University.
The ranking included the following universities in the 601-800 range: the American University in Cairo, Damietta University, King Salman International University, Menoufia University, Misr International University, Pharos University, Port Said University, South Valley University, Sphinx University, and Tanta University.
Aswan University
The ranking included the following universities in the 801-1000 range: Badr University in Cairo, Capital University, Chinese University, Future University, Galala University, Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development, Misr University for Science and Technology, Nile University, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, Sohag University, the British University in Egypt, and Sadat City University.
Ranked between 1001 and 1500 are Benha National University, Damanhour University, Elsewedy University of Technology, Horus University, Menoufia National University, Minya University, Sinai University, and Zewail City of Science and Technology.
Meanwhile, Misr University for Informatics and Mansoura University rank 1501 and above.
In terms of performance evaluation across the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Egyptian universities have achieved a prominent international presence, ranking among the top 100 universities globally in several of the goals measured by the ranking.
