CAIRO - 23 June 2026: Maintaining the stability and security of the Gulf region remains an integral, inseparable part of wider Arab national security, the foreign ministers of Egypt and Kuwait declared in a Monday bilateral meeting.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the 165th resumed ordinary session of the Arab League Ministerial Council in Amman.

The meeting highlighted the deep historical and fraternal ties binding Cairo and Kuwait, with both ministers emphasizing their commitment to developing political, economic, and investment cooperation.

To elevate bilateral ties, the two diplomats underscored the importance of thorough preparation for the upcoming 14th session of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Higher Committee, scheduled to convene in Kuwait. They noted that the joint committee will serve to institutionalize agreements reached during recent high-level reciprocal state visits.

During their exchange on regional challenges, the ministers urged intensified Arab consultation to bolster regional security and enhance collective crisis management.

They stressed that absolute commitment to good neighborly relations, respect for state sovereignty, and non-interference in internal affairs are fundamental requirements for Middle East stability.

Turning to the Palestinian cause, Abdelatty and Al-Sabah demanded an immediate, permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip alongside the full, sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid.

Reiterating their absolute rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians, the ministers reaffirmed that implementing the two-state solution—resulting in an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital—stands as the only viable path to lasting regional peace.
