CAIRO – 16 June 2026: During a seminar titled “No Patient Left Behind: Bridging Gaps Through the Integrated Health Journey,” the Ministry of Health and Population showcased Egypt’s pioneering public health experience.
The presentation took place as part of the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon conference and exhibition, held under the theme “Health Sovereignty in Africa: Leadership, Resilience, and Self-Reliance,” and under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s official spokesperson, explained that the seminar brought together a distinguished group of experts and representatives of presidential initiatives to discuss ways to ensure the continuity of healthcare services and strengthen integration across all stages of the patient journey, from awareness and early detection to treatment and ongoing follow-up.
Dr. Mona Khalifa, Director General of the General Administration of Health Initiatives, stated that the Presidential Public Health Initiatives represent a comprehensive Egyptian model that has become an international benchmark.
She explained that the initiatives began with a simple concept focused on raising awareness and facilitating early detection through easily accessible tools. Over time, they evolved to encompass diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care through to full recovery.
Dr. Khalifa noted that the initiative to eliminate Hepatitis C is a prime example of this integrated approach. It has successfully reached millions of citizens by providing unprecedented screening, treatment, and follow-up services, paving the way for the expansion of the program into 16 presidential initiatives that address a wide range of age groups and health needs.
The seminar concluded by emphasizing that Egypt’s experience has become a global model for comprehensive healthcare based on proactive outreach, early detection, and a streamlined patient journey, helping to achieve the goal of “leaving no patient behind.”
