CAIRO - 9 June 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts moderate temperatures in the early morning of Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with very hot weather expected across most of the country during the day and warm to hot weather along the northern coast.

Temperatures will be moderate at night across most of the country, and warm weather is expected in Upper Egypt.

When will the heat wave break?

Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the media center at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, confirmed that the current high temperatures will continue until the end of this week, with a slight decrease expected at the beginning of next week.

Dr. Ghanem explained that the maximum temperatures in Greater Cairo will drop to between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius, representing a relative improvement compared to current averages, while the usual hot summer weather will persist.

Ghanem also emphasized that recurring heat waves are normal for this time of year.

EMA revealed details of the weather forecast for the coming days, confirming that the high temperatures will continue across most of the country until the end of this week, with a noticeable increase in humidity levels, which will make the actual temperature feel even hotter than the recorded averages.

Dr. Manar Ghanem said that the country is currently experiencing a wave of very hot weather during the daytime in most areas, while the weather is warm to hot in the coastal areas, explaining that the recorded temperatures are higher than the normal averages for this time of year.
