CAIRO – 6 June 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecast a rise in temperatures across the country on Saturday, June 6, 2026, according to the latest satellite imagery.
Weather conditions are expected to be mild during the early morning hours before turning very hot throughout the day across most regions. Along the northern coast, temperatures will be warm to hot, while nighttime conditions will remain generally mild, becoming warmer in Upper Egypt.
The EMA warned that high humidity levels will increase the perceived temperature by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius above the actual temperature recorded in the shade. In Greater Cairo, the perceived temperature is expected to reach between 39°C and 40°C.
Mist is forecast to form between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, potentially affecting visibility during the morning commute.
Meteorologists also indicated a slight chance (around 20 percent) of light rainfall at intervals in parts of the northern coast and the northern Nile Delta.
Strong winds, ranging from 35 to 45 km/h, are expected across sections of the northwestern coast and may stir up sand and dust in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, and Upper Egypt. Wind gusts could reach 50 to 60 km/h in some areas, leading to reduced horizontal visibility, particularly in the northern governorates of Upper Egypt, where visibility may fall below 1,000 meters.
In addition, low clouds are expected to develop in scattered areas of southern Delta, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and northern Upper Egypt. These clouds may produce light and generally insignificant drizzle in isolated locations.
