Cairo Metro Line 3 to operate until 2:00 a.m. for fans of Egypt-Russia football game

CAIRO - 28 May 2026: Cairo Metro Line 3 will extend its operating hours today, Thursday, by one hour until 2:00 a.m. to accommodate fans attending the Egyptian national team’s friendly football match against Russia this evening. The extended service aims to provide supporters with a safe and efficient means of transportation after the match.

The Egyptian national football team will play a friendly match against Russia this evening, Thursday, at Cairo International Stadium, amid strong attendance from fans eager to support the Pharaohs in their preparations.

The match forms part of the national team’s intensive preparation program. The Pharaohs’ delegation is scheduled to depart on May 30 for Ohio, USA, where they will play another major friendly against Brazil on June 6 as part of their final preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
