CAIRO - 28 May 2026: New El Alamein City is witnessing a significant leap forward in the health sector, as part of the state's plan to transform the city into an integrated center for medical services and medical tourism.

The Ministry of Health and Population is implementing several major national projects to develop the health infrastructure and improve the efficiency of medical services provided to citizens and visitors to the North Coast.

At the forefront of these projects is the development of the El Alamein Model Hospital, which has become one of the most important modern medical facilities on the North Coast.

The hospital includes emergency and reception departments, operating rooms, intensive care units, dialysis units, radiology and laboratory services, in addition to specialized clinics operating around the clock with the latest medical equipment, digital transformation technology, and artificial intelligence.

Attracting Patients from Within and Abroad

The Ministry of Health is also working to expand the implementation of a national medical tourism project within El Alamein Hospital.

This will contribute to attracting patients from both within Egypt and abroad, transforming the city into a regional destination for treatment according to international standards, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.

Among the most prominent projects currently underway is the "Sakina" Mental Health Hospital project in New El Alamein City. This is one of the largest mental health projects in Egypt, with a capacity of up to 950 beds, and aims to provide comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation services for mental health and addiction patients.

In the context of supporting medical technology, the Ministry of Health discussed the implementation of a local manufacturing project for ultrasound devices in cooperation with General Electric Healthcare.

The Ministry also discussed establishing training and simulation centers to support technical and medical staff, thereby enhancing the quality of diagnostic services in hospitals.

The Ministry of Health affirmed that El Alamein City has become a comprehensive model for providing modern healthcare services, especially with the expansion of presidential initiatives, home healthcare services, and the development of hospitals and medical centers along the North Coast.
