CAIRO - 18 May 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent launched its 198th "Zad Al-Izza... From Egypt to Gaza" convoy Monday, including a number of trucks towards the Gaza Strip.
This initiative is part of its role as the national mechanism for coordinating aid to the Strip.
The convoy included approximately 3,849 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid, including food baskets, flour, medical supplies, relief materials, and petroleum products to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent also reinforced its efforts to provide the people of Gaza with basic necessities such as clothing and tents to shelter those affected.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has been present at the border since the beginning of the crisis, as the Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side. It has maintained its readiness at all logistical centers and its continuous efforts to deliver humanitarian and relief aid, which has exceeded 980,000 tons, thanks to the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers within the organization.
