CAIRO - 18 May 2026: As part of the comprehensive mobilization and intensive efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state to ensure the safety of its citizens during Hajj season, the Assistant Minister of Interior for Administrative Affairs and Head of the Executive Body of the Ministerial Committee for Hajj announced the launch of an unprecedented health and medical strategy, specifically designed to protect and care for pilgrims selected by lottery throughout their Hajj pilgrimage.

The Head of the Executive Body of the Ministerial Committee revealed a comprehensive medical strategy that relies on delivering medical services directly to the pilgrims' accommodations. The mission successfully established 15 advanced medical clinics within the pilgrims' hotels in the holy city of Mecca, in addition to three other clinics strategically located in Medina hotels.

The relevant authorities are responsible for equipping these 18 clinics with all the latest medical equipment, essential medications, and necessary medical supplies to operate as mini-emergency units around the clock.

In a humanitarian gesture reflecting the commitment to the well-being of those most in need of care, the Assistant Minister of the Interior confirmed the formation of a specialized medical team from the Ministry's Medical Services Sector.

This team has a specific and exceptional mission: to accompany the Hajj mission and provide immediate medical and therapeutic services to elderly and disabled pilgrims in their rooms and accommodations, whether in Mecca or Medina, thus sparing them the hardship of travel or waiting.

These extensive medical facilities are part of a broader framework of improvements implemented in the Egyptian Hajj system in recent seasons.

These improvements have brought about a genuine leap forward in the mechanisms for serving the pilgrims. The facilitations are no longer limited to booking hotels near the Two Holy Mosques or upgrading the transportation fleet; they now extend to improving the health and well-being of Egyptian pilgrims and establishing rapid electronic links for medical cases.

This reflects the new vision of the political leadership in harnessing all the capabilities of the state sectors to provide the highest levels of safety and security for citizens abroad, enabling them to perform their religious duty and return home safely.
