CAIRO – 18 May 2026: Alaa Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, departed for the Algerian capital on Monday to participate in the opening of the 24th International Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Industries Exhibition, held at the Palais des Expositions in Pins Maritimes under the theme: “Modernizing Agriculture, Enhancing Food Sovereignty, and Envisioning the Future.”

Farouk stated that Egypt’s selection as guest of honor for this year’s edition, alongside Niger and Mauritania, reflects the shared strategic vision between Egypt and Algeria to strengthen continental integration and establish resilient regional production chains capable of addressing global challenges and achieving sustainable food security across Africa.

The minister is scheduled to participate in the exhibition’s opening ceremony and tour its pavilions alongside Algerian Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries Yacine Oualid, and several heads of official and diplomatic delegations.

This year’s exhibition features broad international participation, including 247 global brands, with leading Egyptian companies specializing in agricultural development and production among them.

Egypt’s participation highlights the prominent position of its agricultural sector and reflects the state’s commitment to sharing its successful experience in land reclamation and agricultural innovation with African partners. It also underscores Egypt’s support for regional initiatives aimed at strengthening food sovereignty in Arab and African countries.
