Iraqi Parliament votes to grant confidence to the Government of Ali Faleh al-Zaidi

CAIRO – 14 May 2026: The Iraqi Parliament voted on Thursday to grant confidence to the government of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi.

The Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and the approved ministers took the constitutional oath, officially assuming their duties.

During the session, Parliament voted to grant confidence to 14 ministers, including Ali Basim Muhammad Khudair as Minister of Oil, Muhammad Nouri Ahmed as Minister of Industry, Ali Saad Wahib as Minister of Electricity, Abdul-Hussein Aziz as Minister of Health, Sarwa Abdul-Wahid as Minister of Environment, Abdul-Rahim Jassim as Minister of Agriculture, and Muthanna Ali Mahdi as Minister of Water Resources.

The list of ministers approved by Parliament also included Mustafa Nizar Juma as Minister of Trade, Khalid Shawani as Minister of Justice, Abdulkarim Abtan as Minister of Education, Wahab Salman Mohammed as Minister of Transport, Falih Al-Sari as Minister of Finance, Fuad Hussein as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mustafa Jabbar Sanad as Minister of Communications.
