CAIRO – 11 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi sent a congratulatory message to Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, on the occasion of Easter, state-owned news agency MENA reported.

 

In his message, President El-Sisi expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes to Pope Tawadros II and to Egypt’s Coptic community.

 

“It gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Holiness and to our Coptic brothers and sisters my sincerest congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Easter. May Allah return it to you with goodness and blessings,” the President said.

 

He added, “I take this blessed opportunity to commend the bonds of brotherhood and love that unite all the sons and daughters of Egypt. This unified national matter represents a protective shield and a strong fortress for preserving the homeland, safeguarding its resources, and building a bright future that fulfills the hopes and aspirations of all Egyptians.”

 

President El-Sisi continued, expressing his prayers for the well-being of Pope Tawadros II and for a joyful celebration, wishing him a blessed Easter filled with health and happiness. He also extended his wishes for continued security, stability, and prosperity for Egypt.

 

The President also sent similar congratulatory messages to Copts living abroad, which were conveyed through Egyptian embassies and consulates worldwide. In these messages, he extended his greetings for the occasion and wished them continued success and prosperity.
