CAIRO - 30 July 2017: Brazil's Ambassador to Egypt Roy Amaral hailed the distinguished ties binding his country and Egypt.

The Brazilian Embassy plans to organize a special event to shed light on the ties between the two countries, he added in statements to MENA.

Egypt and Brazil always support each other in the international arenas, he said, adding that the two countries share identical viewpoints toward regional and international issues.

He also said that Egypt joined Mercosur Free Trade Agreement, which will be activated after one month, adding that the agreement will open new aspects of trade cooperation between Egypt and the Mercosur members which include Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The volume of trade exchange between the two countries surpasses 2 billion dollars annually, he noted.

He, meanwhile, hailed Egypt's role in the Middle East, noting that its role is crucial in restoring stability in the region.

Egypt is a very safe destination for travelers, he affirmed, adding that the embassy did not issue any advice against travel to Cairo.

There are about 15,000 Brazilian tourists who visit Egypt annually, he added.
