MENOUFIA – 2 April 2026: The ministries of social solidarity and labor, alongside Menoufia Governorate, will disburse LE 600,000 to the family of each of the fatalities in a tragic road collision that left nine dead on Thursday.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity will provide LE 100,000 per family, while the Ministry of Labor will contribute LE 200,000, according to a government statement. Menoufia Governorate will cover the remaining LE 300,000.
The ministers also directed that assistance be provided to those injured in the crash, in accordance with their medical assessments.
Nine people were killed and three others injured, when a pickup truck collided with a large cargo truck Thursday morning in the Nile Delta governorate.
The death toll on the Sadat-Menouf road rose to nine after one of the injured victims succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
According to security sources, Menoufia police have arrested the driver of one of the vehicles, who is reported to have been driving in the wrong direction and caused the collision.
Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy ordered immediate coordination with the Menoufia social solidarity directorate and the Egyptian Red Crescent relief teams to provide urgent assistance.
