CAIRO - 25 March 2026: Dr. Mohamed Hany Ghoneim, Governor of Fayoum, emphasized the importance of optimally utilizing the natural treasures and tourism potential that the governorate possesses.
He pointed out that Fayoum has promising opportunities that qualify it to become a global destination for tourism and environmental investment.
Directives to maximize resource utilization
Ghoneim explained that the governorate is working to open new horizons for sustainable tourism investment, achieving a balance between environmental preservation and economic returns, and providing real job opportunities for the people of Fayoum.
He also noted the necessity of developing services provided in tourist areas, especially in the Qarun and El-Rayan nature reserves.
Supporting environmental investment projects
Ghoneim highlighted the encouragement of implementing quality projects, including a project to extract salts from Lake Qarun on an area of 4,000 acres. He stressed that these projects not only aim for economic returns but also contribute to restoring the lake's ecological balance.
Invitation to investors and comprehensive support
The Governor extended an invitation to serious investors to explore the investment opportunities available on the northern and southern shores of Lake Qarun and in the Wadi El-Rayan Protected Area.
He emphasized the Governorate's commitment to providing logistical support and streamlining the procedures necessary for establishing tourism and environmental projects that align with the region's natural environment.
