CAIRO - 21 MARCH 2026: Israeli media reported that buildings were hit in Rishon LeZion, south of Tel Aviv, after a fresh Iranian missile attack, with additional reports suggesting injuries linked to explosive submunitions from a “cluster” warhead.

The reports came as Israeli outlets said a new salvo of Iranian missiles was detected heading toward central and southern Israel, triggering alerts across multiple areas.

The Jerusalem Post reported that a kindergarten in Rishon LeZion was damaged, with initial indications pointing to shrapnel rather than a confirmed direct missile impact. Israel’s Magen David Adom said there were no injuries reported at the site, but noted an elderly man was lightly injured while heading to a shelter.

Separately, rescue and media reporting cited by the Times of Israel said cluster munitions from an Iranian ballistic missile caused damage at several sites in central Israel, part of a pattern Israeli officials have referenced in earlier barrages.

At this stage, details on the scale of damage and the number of casualties remain fluid, with Israeli emergency services and local authorities typically updating assessments as more reports come in and sites are checked.
