CAIRO - 28 July 2017: The activities of the second session of the joint Egyptian-Romanian ministerial committee for economic and scientific cooperation kicked off earlier Friday in Bucharest.

Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr led the Egyptian side, while the Romanian side was led by Romania's State Secretary in the Ministry for the Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Harry-Ilan Laufer.

Addressing the session, Nasr underlined the importance of the committee in achieving more fruitful cooperation between Cairo and Bucharest.

Egypt has issued a number of laws that aim at providing a business-friendly environment, Nasr said, pointing out to the keenness of the Egyptian leadership on establishing strong relationships with Romania.

The Egyptian minster expressed hope for boosting Romania's investments in Egypt, adding that the volume of Romania's investments in Egypt stand at 88.32 million dollars.

Unofficial figures show that Egypt's investments in Romania reached 100 million dollars.
