Noticeable drop in temperatures: Cold wave hits Egypt starting, Friday

CAIRO – 21 February 2025: Egypt’s General Authority for Meteorology expected, Friday, to witness a cold wave during the day and very cold at night in most parts of the country, as temperatures drop up to 3 to 4 degrees.

The cold general wave and the noticeable drop in temperatures is expected to be witnessed during the whole coming week in all parts, according to the General Authority for Meteorology.

The maritime navigation is expected to be disturbed in the Mediterranean Sea, with wind speeds ranging from 40: 60 km per hour and wave heights ranging from 3: 4 meters.

Chances of light rain are also expected in areas of the northwestern coasts and the northern part of the Delta, and chances of light rain that may be moderate in areas of the northeastern coasts.

The Meteorological Authority explained the expected maximum and minimum temperatures today as follows:

Greater Cairo: highs of 17 degrees and a minimum of 11

Alexandria: highs of 16 degrees and a minimum of 11

Marsa Matrouh: highs of 15 degrees and a minimum of 11

Sohag: highs of 23 degrees and a minimum of 9

Qena: highs of 24 degrees and a minimum of 11

 Aswan: highs of 25 degrees and a minimum of 12
