Humanitarian aid trucks - file
CAIRO - 20 February 2025: Egypt continued Thursday sending new batches of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, as part of the ongoing relief efforts to support our Palestinian brothers.
Aid trucks passed through the crossing gate on their way to the Palestinian side, as part of the “Long Live Egypt” convoy, which includes trucks loaded with various food and relief supplies, expressing Egyptian solidarity with the residents of the Strip in light of the current humanitarian crisis.
A responsible source at the Rafah crossing confirmed that the entry of trucks is taking place according to regulatory procedures that include registering the aid and placing a barcode on it, in preparation for transporting it to the Palestinian interior.
The source added that the aid arrives successively to the logistics area in Rafah, where it is classified and distributed in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure its rapid delivery to those entitled to it.
A source in the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai explained that the trucks pass through the commercial crossings of Al-Auja and Kerem Abu Salem, before being handed over to the Palestinian Red Crescent, which is responsible for distributing them inside the Strip, to ensure that they reach hospitals, relief centers and the most affected families.
According to sources at the Rafah crossing, the total number of injured who have entered Egypt for treatment since the beginning of the truce has reached about 680 injured and sick people, accompanied by 1,850 companions, while the number of aid trucks that have entered the Strip has exceeded 7,000 trucks, carrying more than 130,000 tons of various aid.
More than 20,000 tents have also been sent through the Egyptian crossings to provide shelter for the displaced inside Gaza.
Egypt also continues to receive injured Palestinians for treatment in its hospitals, where an integrated medical system has been prepared to receive critical cases, starting from the hospitals of Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, to the major hospitals in Ismailia and Cairo.
