CAIRO – 18 February 2025: Egyptian reconstruction equipment arrived in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday and has already begun paving the way to Kerem Shalom from the Palestinian side, according to al Qahera news channel.
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip welcomed the reconstruction equipment coming from Egypt with great joy and popular celebrations.
Equipment to contribute in Gaza reconstruction also began to enter into the Strip from Rafah Border Crossing.
Egypt continues its humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, as trucks from the "Long Live Egypt" convoy loaded with relief aid arrived at the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, which set off from various governorates of the republic, expressing the solidarity of the Egyptian people with our brothers in the Gaza Strip.
The convoy, which was organized with popular participation, carries food, medicine, medical supplies, and various relief materials, aiming to support those affected in the Strip. This aid comes as part of the ongoing Egyptian efforts to alleviate human suffering, by providing basic needs and supporting relief efforts.
A source in the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai confirmed that the trucks are arriving successively to the logistical waiting area in Rafah, where they are subject to several organizational procedures, including placing a barcode and classifying aid to ensure its entry into the Strip according to a specific timetable.
The source explained that these procedures aim to facilitate the entry of aid into Gaza in an organized and coordinated manner with the relevant authorities.
The source added that after completing the logistical preparations, the trucks will be directed to the Rafah crossing, where they will enter the Palestinian side after passing through the Al-Auja commercial crossing and Karam Abu Salem, according to the mechanisms followed in transporting aid.
The trucks will be handed over to the Palestinian Red Crescent, which is responsible for distributing them within the Strip to ensure that they reach the beneficiaries, especially the most needy groups such as affected families, hospitals, and relief centers.
