CAIRO – 13 February 2025: An official source stated on Thursday that Egypt and Qatar have successfully removed obstacles to the continuation of the ceasefire in Gaza, Al Qahera News reported.

The joint efforts by Egypt and Qatar ensure that both sides remain committed to implementing the agreement, the source added.

Moreover, Israeli media, citing official sources, confirmed the commitment to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip following positive signals regarding Hamas's adherence to the deal, as relayed Al Qahera News.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday threatened to resume the war in Gaza after Hamas said it plans to delay the release of three more Israeli captives on Saturday, as scheduled under the ceasefire.

The movement cited Israeli violations of the ceasefire, including shooting dead Palestinians in the enclave and obstructing the entry of tents, caravans, fuel and medical supplies.

On the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, construction equipment and trucks loaded with caravans are lined up, awaiting permission to enter Gaza as part of efforts to support and rebuild the affected areas.

The convoy includes modern loaders and equipped caravans, bearing the Egyptian flag and the emblem of the Egyptian-Qatari committee, emphasizing their collaborative efforts in relief and reconstruction.

A total of 266 aid trucks bound for Gaza, including 22 carrying fuel, have crossed the Awja and Karam Abu Salem crossings on Thursday, according to Al Qahera News.

US President Donald Trump this week threatened Hamas, demanding the release of all captives by Saturday noon or warning that “all hell will break loose.”

Meanwhile, Netanyahu warned that the Israeli army will resume “intense fighting” in Gaza “until Hamas is decisively defeated” in case the captives were not released.

Hamas said today it is “not interested” in the collapse of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, affirming dedication to its full implementation while ensuring that Israel adheres to it completely.

In Cairo, Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya held talks with the Arab mediators on Wednesday in a bid to salvage the agreement.

Talks highlighted the necessity of adhering to the implementation of all the terms of the agreement, especially with regard to urgently bringing in caravans, tents, heavy equipment, medical supplies, and fuel, Hamas said in a statement today.

The ceasefire, brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, took effect on January 19, halting over 15 months of war that devastated the enclave and killed more than 48,000 Palestinians.

Under the ceasefire, Israel and Hamas have already exchanged a total of 766 Palestinian prisoners and 21 captives—16 Israelis and 5 Thai nationals—through five prisoner swaps, the most recent of which occurred last Saturday.
