CAIRO – 10 February 2025: Egyptian medical teams at Rafah border crossing continue their intensive preparations to receive new batches of wounded and injured Palestinians coming from the Gaza Strip to receive treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

These efforts come within the framework of the ongoing humanitarian support provided by Egypt to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, especially in light of the difficult circumstances the Strip is going through.

It is worth noting that since the reopening of the Rafah land crossing, which is the vital artery of the Gaza Strip, after a nine-month closure, Egyptian medical teams have been working around the clock to ensure the reception of the wounded and provide them with urgent medical care.

Ambulances equipped with all modern medical equipment have been set up, waiting for the arrival of the wounded to transfer them quickly and efficiently to Egyptian hospitals.

In the past hours, the eighth batch of wounded and injured Palestinians was received, as they were transported by ambulances from the Rafah crossing to the hospitals of Arish and Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai. This batch included 50 injured and sick people, in addition to a number of their companions, to receive free treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

Egyptian hospitals, especially in North Sinai, are preparing to receive the injured from the Gaza Strip, and these hospitals have been equipped with all the necessary medical capabilities, including specialized medical teams in various specialties, to ensure the provision of the best possible health care.

Cases are classified upon arrival at the crossing, as critical cases are transferred to equipped hospitals in Cairo and the governorates, while other cases are treated in hospitals in Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Bir al-Abd in North Sinai.
