CAIRO – 8 February 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call on Friday with his Ugandan counterpart, Henry Oryem Okello, as part of ongoing coordination and consultation between the two countries on matters of mutual interest.

 

Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Uganda, particularly in the political, economic, and security sectors. He also underscored the importance of organizing the second round of political and technical consultations later this month, aimed at advancing the common interests of both nations.

 

The call also touched on the exchange of views on several regional issues, highlighting the importance of continued coordination in regional and international forums, particularly with the upcoming African Summit due this month. Both sides agreed to support each other in regional and international organizations.

 

For his part, the Ugandan Minister expressed appreciation for the strong ties between Cairo and Kampala, commending Egypt’s role in supporting Uganda’s development efforts. He also expressed a strong desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the near future.
