CAIRO – 7 February 2025: Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov said that his country is ready to meet Egypt's needs for wheat and grains, noting that Kazakhstan seeks to strengthen its partnership with Egypt in this vital field.

The Minister’s comments were given during his meeting with Egyptian ambassador to Kazakhstan Ibtisam Rakha on Friday to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Kazakhstan, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The Minister also expressed his country's interest in exploring ways of cooperation in the field of building silos and grain storage projects.

The Egyptian Ambassador stressed the importance of enhancing agricultural cooperation between both countries, noting that Egypt considers Kazakhstan a strategic partner in the field of grain supply, especially wheat, which is one of the basic commodities that the Egyptian government seeks to secure to meet local consumption.

Kazakhstan is one of the largest producers and exporters of wheat in the world, as its grain production reached 26 million metric tons last year.

Both sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of grain storage and silo construction by taking advantage of the investment advantages and incentives provided by the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

Additionally, the ambassador expressed Egypt's aspiration to exchange agricultural expertise with Kazakhstan, which would benefit both the Egyptian and Kazakh sides.

The meeting also addressed specific proposals to enhance agricultural cooperation between the two countries, including increasing trade exchange of agricultural products.

On January 23, 2025, a phone call took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration Badr Abdelatty and his Kazakh counterpart, reflecting the close historical ties between the two friendly countries.
