Egypt's Ambassador to Kenya delivers message from President Sisi to Kenyan Counterpart

CAIRO – 17 January 2025: Egypt's Ambassador to Kenya Wael Nasr El-Din Attia, delivered on Friday a written message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Kenyan President William Ruto, at the Kenyan presidential headquarters.

The ambassador conveyed Egypt's appreciation for Kenya's pivotal role in the East Africa and Horn of Africa region and in advancing the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

He praised the steady growth in the volume of intra-trade in light of the joint membership in the COMESA group, which reached about 800 million US dollars in 2024, and Egypt became the tenth largest trading partner of Kenya and the second largest importer of Kenyan tea, stressing Egypt's welcome to increase economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.

President William Ruto asked to convey his great appreciation to, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and his desire to strengthen relations with Egypt and benefit from Egyptian expertise in the sectors of agriculture, irrigation, health, industry, clean and renewable energy, and infrastructure.

The meeting discussed a number of regional issues of common interest, and ways to enhance the level of trade and political coordination between the two countries, based on the depth of the common history between the two countries and common interests.
