CAIRO – 8 December 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived on Sunday in Oslo, the capital of Norway, on the second leg of a European tour that he initiated with a visit to Denmark over the past two days.

In Norway, Sisi will convene with the Norwegian king, prime minister, as well as president and members of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament).

Moreover, he is scheduled to meet with chairpersons of Norwegian companies operating in Egypt and witness the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries.

The visit comes a day after Sisi along with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen signed the declaration for strategic partnership between both countries.

In a joint press conference with Frederiksen, Sisi said that the joint declaration will significantly advance cooperation between Egypt and Denmark in a wide range of sectors, primarily maritime transport, energy and green transition, health and scientific research, investment, agriculture, tourism, communication and Information technology, combating illegal migration and terrorism, and fighting poverty and desertification.

The visit included meetings with Denmark’s king and parliament speaker as well as chairmen of the Danish shipping and logistics company A.P. Moller-Maersk and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, a global leader in renewable energy investments.

Sisi’s visit to Denmark signifies the first time an Egyptian president has visited Denmark since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in June 1922.

The last stop of the president’s tour will be Dublin, the capital of Ireland. There, Sisi will engage in discussions with the president and prime minister to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation and enhancing coordination on international issues and crises.
