CAIRO – 6 December 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced that Egypt and Denmark will sign a declaration elevating their relations to a strategic partnership on Saturday.

Sisi made the remarks during a joint business conference between Egypt and Denmark, which he inaugurated along with Danish King Frederik X on Friday.

The president emphasized that the core of this partnership lies in the economic, commercial, and investment aspects between the two countries, as well as in enhancing cooperation between their private sectors.

He highlighted key cooperation sectors of mutual interest for Egypt and Denmark, such as shipping, maritime transport, as well as clean, renewable, and green energy.

Sisi emphasized Egypt's vast opportunities in these fields, which the Danish side can leverage.

The president emphasized the formation of the Egyptian-Danish Business Council, which he inaugurated along with the Danish king today, as a crucial starting point for Danish economic and commercial entities to explore the investment potential in Egypt.

Sisi stated that these entities can tap into Egypt's investment potential in infrastructure, communications, information technology, manufacturing industries, as well as production of clean energy, renewable and green energy, and circular economy sectors.

The president stressed that investments in these sectors support Egypt's efforts to become a regional hub for supply chains and the transfer and trade of renewable and green energy, given the country's strategic geographical location.

Egypt welcomes Danish investors to engage in projects across shared interest areas, aiming to boost Denmark’s investments in Egypt, Sisi stated.

He highlighted the longstanding cooperation with the A.P. Moller - Maersk company, spanning over two decades.

Sisi reiterated the Egyptian government's commitment to offering all forms of support and facilitation to Danish companies operating in Egypt and those looking to establish businesses in the country.

EUROPEAN SOJOURN

Sisi’s visit to Copenhagen marks the first by an Egyptian President to Denmark, kicking off his European tour that will also include visits to Norway and Ireland.

In Oslo, the capital of Norway, Sisi will convene with the Norwegian king, prime minister, as well as president and members of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament).

He is scheduled to meet with chairpersons of Norwegian companies operating in Egypt and witness the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries.

Concluding his European sojourn in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, Sisi will engage in discussions with the president and prime minister to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation and enhancing coordination on international issues and crises.
