CAIRO - 6 December 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with King Frederik X of Denmark on the first leg of his European tour that also includes visits to Norway and Ireland.

The president laid a wreath of flowers at the memorial for the unknown soldier. Subsequently, the President, accompanied by the king and queen of Denmark, proceeded to Amalienborg Palace in horse-drawn carriages.

Sisi expressed his gratitude to King Frederik for his warm reception, emphasizing his pride in this visit as the first by an Egyptian president to Denmark.

He affirmed his anticipation that this visit would enhance relations between both countries in all fields.

Sisi and King Frederik are scheduled to participate in the Egyptian-Danish business forum later today.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Sisi’s visit to Denmark is set to include meetings with prime minister and parliament speaker of Denmark, culminating in the signing of a declaration establishing a strategic partnership between the two nations, said Presidential spokesman Mohamed El-Shenawy on Thursday.

During his visit, Sisi will take part in economic meetings and events, witnessing the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across various collaborative domains.

Denmark is the first destination for Sisi as part of a European tour that also encompasses visits to Norway and Ireland.

In Oslo, the capital of Norway, Sisi will convene with the Norwegian king, prime minister, as well as president and members of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament).

He is scheduled to meet with chairpersons of Norwegian companies operating in Egypt and witness the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries.

Concluding his European sojourn in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, Sisi will engage in discussions with the president and prime minister to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation and enhancing coordination on international issues and crises.
