CAIRO - 5 November 2024: Ambassador Atef Salem, General Coordinator of the World Urban Forum, discussed the significance of the forum, stating that it serves as a platform held biennially in different cities around the world.

He emphasized that this year's forum presents an opportunity for Egypt to showcase its urban and civilizational renaissance, including recent economic, social, and environmental developments and new projects that address informal housing challenges.

During an interview on the “El Setat Ma Ye’rafoush Yekdebo” program aired on CBC, Salem highlighted that these projects significantly enhance Egypt's image and reflect the nation’s progress. He noted that Egypt is hosting two of the most important United Nations conferences: the Climate Conference (COP) and the World Urban Forum.

Salem also pointed out that hosting these conferences underscores Egypt’s stability and the global confidence in its capacity to manage international events. He noted that Egypt gains valuable insights from the experiences of other participating countries and uses this platform to promote its own development projects and attract investments in urban initiatives.
