CAIRO - 28 October 2024: The “Best Friend” initiative is one of the prominent initiatives by the National Alliance for Civil Action, aiming to integrate people of determination into society and enhance the role of youth in this field.

The initiative plans to reach 10 million citizens in 24 governorates and train 10,000 volunteers from the organization’s youth.

The National Alliance for Civil Action has succeeded over the past period in improving the lives of citizens at various levels, as its efforts were not limited to economic initiatives and cash assistance, but extended to participating in development efforts.

The National Alliance for Civil Action primarily aims to eliminate dual benefit and unify the efforts of civil society institutions to reduce the burdens on citizens and the most vulnerable groups. It also works to ensure that social protection programs include the deserving groups, through a package of cash and in-kind assistance and other services.

The alliance was able to raise the level of education and public health, supporting youth and developing their awareness and self-capabilities, in addition to interacting with current events such as supporting the Palestinian people and other urgent issues.

One of its latest initiatives was the "Best Friend" initiative, which aims to integrate people with disabilities into society, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Life Makers Egypt Foundation.

The foundation's latest activities included holding a competition to select talents from people with disabilities, as part of the "Best Friend" initiative, in preparation for producing a theatrical show for the winners.

A total of 55 young men and women with disabilities participated in the final qualifiers, which were held on October 19, 2024, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The winners were selected by a committee that included specialists from the Institute of Theatrical Arts, including composer Ahmed Al-Nasser and artist Wafaa Al-Hakim.

The competition featured a variety of creative fields including poetry, singing, playing music, drawing, and sports such as gymnastics and karate. It resulted in 10 winners, with “Life Makers” preparing to hold a theatrical show that brings them together.
