CAIRO – 24 July 2017: The world’s fattest woman Eman Ahmed has lost 60 kg of her weight and her health condition is stable now, according to Managing Director of Burjeel Hospital Dr. Yassin Ibrahim on Monday.

Eman Ahmed is expected to lose from 40 to 50 kg in the second stage of treatment, said Dr. Ibrahim.

A press conference was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Monday, July 24, to present the recent developments in Eman’s health condition attended by the Egyptian ambassador in the Emirates, Dr. Shamshir Fayal, supervisor of her treatment and Dr. Yassin Ibrahim.

Eman herself attended the conference proving her stable health condition.
“The patient now eats her food by herself, and her body is functioning normally,” said Dr. Ibrahim during the press conference, adding that “she is undergoing physiotherapy and she can talk normally now.”

Since her childhood, she has suffered from an unknown disease causing her overweight reaching 500 kg and paralysis. In February 2017, she travelled to India for treatment, where she lost 242 kg by surgery and a special diet.
