CAIRO - 15 July 2024: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi received in his office at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, UAE Ambassador in Cairo Maryam Khalifa Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and antiquities.
 
This meeting comes within the framework of the meetings that the Minister will hold with ambassadors of countries around the world in Cairo during the coming period, to discuss developing joint relations and enhancing cooperation efforts at the tourism and archaeological levels.
 
These meetings aim to contribute to increasing incoming tourist traffic to Egypt.
 
The Minister began the meeting by welcoming the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Cairo, stressing the strong historical relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, and that these relations are distinguished by their specificity and diversity in all areas of priority for the two brotherly countries, especially tourism and antiquities.
 
For her part, Ambassador Maryam Khalifa Al-Kaabi congratulated the minister on assuming the portfolio of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, expressing her wishes for him good luck and success and that the coming period will witness more cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and antiquities.
 
During the meeting, tourism investment opportunities in Egypt were discussed, and mechanisms for enhancing joint cooperation to attract more incoming tourist traffic from the United Arab Emirates to Egypt were discussed.
 
It was also agreed to form a working team from the Egyptian and Emirati sides to follow up on what was discussed during the meeting, in a way that contributes to moving forward joint relations towards broader horizons to witness more aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and antiquities.
