CAIRO - 7 July 2024: Egypt condemned “in the strongest terms” on Sunday Israel’s bombing of an UNRWA school, which shelters thousands of displaced civilians in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the death and injury of dozens of Palestinian civilians.

In a Foreign Ministry statement, Egypt denounced the continued Israeli violations of the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law, demanding that Israel comply with its obligations as an occupying power, stop targeting defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip, and provide them with protection and safe areas.

Egypt urged a comprehensive ceasefire in the entire Gaza Strip to put an end to the humanitarian tragedies facing its residents, in which thousands of children, women and defenseless civilians have been killed.

It called on Israel to respond to international efforts aimed at stopping the ongoing war on Gaza, resuming humanitarian efforts, and introducing relief aid in full and without obstacles from all land crossings into the enclave.
