CAIRO - 7 July 2024: First Lady Entissar al-Sisi sent her greetings to the people of Egypt on the start of a new Hijri year on Sunday. 

 

“I extend my greetings to the Egyptian people and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the beginning of the new Hijri year. It is a solemn occasion that reminds us of the greatest meanings of loyalty, patience and faith in the pages of human history,” she wrote of Facebook.

 

The First Lady also wrote a prayer that it be year of prosperity and stability for Egypt. 
 

The Islamic lunar calendar marks the day Prophet Mohamed and his companions migrated from Mecca to Medina to escape persecution 1446 years ago.
