New cabinet's ministers pose to a picture with President Sisi

CAIRO - 3 July 2024: In recent years, the Egyptian state has been interested in making women a major player in achieving sustainable development, giving them the right to actively participate in all aspects of social, economic and political life.
 
This came as women were assigned to important roles in jobs and leadership positions.  
 
As new ministers took oath Wednesday as part of a Cabinet reshuffle, et highlights the number of women who were assigned as ministers and governors. 
 
The formation of the new government and the 2024 governors' movement resulted in appointing four women to the position of minister, five women to the position of deputy minister, a woman to the position of governor, and 9 women to the position of deputy governor.
 
Egypt seeks to ensure women's access to decision-making positions in the state, and ensures women effective particiption in all fields.
 
In this article, et reviews the role of women in the new government and the governors' new movement:
 
 
4 female ministers:
 
- Maya Morsy as the Minister of Social Solidarity
 
- Rania Al-Mashat as the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation
 
- Yasmine Fouad as the Minister of Environment
 
- Manal Awad Mikhail as the Minister of Local Development
 
 
5 women in the position of Deputy Minister:
 
- Youmna Farid Al-Bahar as the Deputy Minister of Tourism
- Abla Al-Alfi as the Deputy Minister of Health
- Margaret Sarofim as the Deputy Minister of Solidarity
- Sabah Mashali as the Deputy Minister of Electricity
