KUWAIT CITY - 23 July 2017: European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini arrived here on Sunday on a visit to Kuwait that comes within the framework of diplomatic efforts to solve the Gulf crisis.

Mogherini will hold talks with a number of senior Kuwaiti officials to express EU support for mediation efforts exerted by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah to find a solution to the Gulf crisis.

She is scheduled to meet with senior government officials in this regard.

"Kuwait is the mediator that we support and accompany and with whom we are constantly in touch," she told a press conference last week.

Kuwait's mediation efforts emerged as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt had cut their ties with Qatar
