CAIRO - 21 May 2024: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has emphasized Egypt's commitment to stopping the bloodshed in Gaza and its continuous positive contributions to resolving regional crises. He stressed that fostering a culture of peace is essential for a more stable and secure future for the region and the world.

 

During a meeting with the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, President El-Sisi highlighted the importance of promoting peace. He noted that peace is a fundamental element for ensuring a stable and secure future both regionally and globally.

 

The meeting with the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina included prominent Egyptian and international figures such as Dr. Magdi Yacoub, Dr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, former Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of La Francophonie, Miguel Moratinos, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Dr. Mohamed Benaissa, former Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research in Bahrain, former Kenyan Minister of Culture Amina Mohamed, Samia Nkrumah, Dr. Mofid Shehab, Engineer Hani Azer, and Mohamed Salmawy, President of the Egyptian Writers’ Union.

 

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

 

President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's ongoing efforts to contribute positively to resolving regional crises. He stressed that peace and stability in the region are crucial for the well-being and security of the international community.
