Mass destruction in Gaza due to continous Israeli bombardment of the strip - file
CAIRO - 2 May 2024: Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoomi praised the efforts of Egypt and its leadership to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, stressing that Egypt plays a pioneering and humanitarian role to stop the war on the Strip and implement more aid.
Al-Asoomi made his remarks in an exclusive statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA) in Amman, during his visit on the sidelines of the meetings of the high-level parliamentary working group for technology, innovation and digital transformation, which is being hosted in the capital, Amman, from April 30 to May 2.
He stated that Egypt, its leadership, and all its relevant agencies played a vital and pioneering role in order to stop the aggression against Gaza from the first day of the war, indicating that Cairo has a historical and Arab role regarding the Palestinian issue as it is the central issue of the entire Arab world.
He added that Egypt has its authentic Arab stances, as it always works within the framework of the Arab interest and for the benefit of Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, as it is the mother issue of all Arab countries. Asoomi stressed that Egypt has worked to implement more aid for the people of Gaza and is still working on more to support and support civilians in the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the Egyptian-Jordanian position contributed to revealing the truth about the Israeli deception and the unreal Israeli narrative of the war on Gaza, explaining that Cairo and Amman contributed to thwarting the Israeli plan to displace the Palestinians and liquidate the Palestinian cause.
He stressed that the Egyptian and Jordanian leadership played a major and pivotal role in the current crisis in Gaza in cooperation and coordination with all Arab countries, stressing that all Arab countries worked to provide aid to the people of Gaza in light of the state of killing and starvation practiced by the occupying state.
Al-Asoomi noted that the Arab Parliament, representing the Arab peoples, demands an immediate cessation of the war on the Gaza Strip and the implementation of more aid, stressing that the current situation requires not only a truce, but also a ceasefire and the delivery of aid.
He revealed that the Arab Parliament adopted an Arab, Islamic and international parliamentary and diplomatic movement in order to support the Palestinian people and their central cause, stressing that there is international mobilization and support to immediately stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the genocidal war.
