Bahraini Deputy PM: Egyptian-Bahraini relations are 'model' for fraternal partnership

CAIRO - 29 April 2024: Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressed the importance of the historical Egyptian-Bahraini relations, and the progress and prosperity they are witnessing. 
 
Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain explained that the relations between both countries is a model of brotherhood, cohesion and joint Arab action under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his brother, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.
 
In an interview with MENA news agency, Mr. Ahmed Kamal, the Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister, appreciated the "fruitful results of the recent summit in Cairo that brought together the leaderships of the two countries," in confirmation of the mutual keenness to consolidate the bonds of integration and strategic partnership. 
 
He further highlighted the congruence of wise diplomatic positions of both leaders ahead of the beginning of the Arab Summit in Manama next May, regarding their commitment to protecting Arab national security and supporting Arab rights and interests, especially the Palestinian issue.
 
Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the keenness of the two countries to raise the volume of trade exchange to more than one billion US dollars annually, and to benefit from promising opportunities in different sectors of: industry, energy, tourism, education and human development.
 
Regarding his assessment of Egyptian-Bahraini relations and their specificity and development, especially in light of the recent visit of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to Cairo and his meeting with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said that "the recent Bahraini-Egyptian summit in Cairo represents a new strong impetus for the process of close and distinguished historical fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, and the progress and prosperity it is witnessing as a model of cohesion and joint Arab action under the wise leadership of the leaders of the two countries."
 
He added, “This official fraternal visit confirmed the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to consolidate the bonds of political, economic and commercial integration and the comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit and development of both countries and the two brotherly peoples, in addition to continuing coordination and consultation in a way that embodies unity of ranks and conformity of visions and wise diplomatic positions ahead of the Arab Summit in Manama, in their commitment to protecting Arab national security and supporting Arab rights and interests, foremost among which is the Palestinian issue."
 
He continued that Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, always affirms the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in its historical relations with Arab Egypt, which are based on mutual respect and unity of purpose and destiny, and its appreciation of Egypt's position as a cradle of security and peace, a home of goodness and stability, a strategic depth for the security of the Arabian Gulf, and the best support for the Arab and Islamic nation.
