CAIRO – 24 April 2024:  Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the current developments in relations between Egypt and Bahrain are “very distinguished”, noting that those relations are of great interest for the two countries’ leaderships.

This came as the prime minister received on Wednesday Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam along with his accompanying delegation, which included some of the most prominent members of the Bahraini parliament, in the presence of Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Alaa el Din Fouad and Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal.

During the meeting, held at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly pointed out to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s recent visit to Cairo on April 18 when he met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

The prime minister also talked about exchanged visits and existing coordination between the two countries at all political and economic levels, in addition to the current cooperation between both countries’ private sectors.

Madbouly emphasized Egypt’s full support for Bahrain’s hosting of the 33rd Arab Summit, scheduled for May, stressing Cairo’s keenness on maintaining close coordination with Manama as regards the outcome of the summit.

As for the current situation in the Gaza Strip, the prime minister underscored the constants of the Egyptian position towards the current crisis in the enclave, which he said are crystallized in the necessity of an immediate and permanent ceasefire and increased access to humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, the Bahraini parliament speaker described Cairo-Manama relations as historical, pointing out to fraternal ties between President Sisi and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as well as between the two countries’ peoples.

He added that there is continued cooperation with Egypt in order to swiftly end the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
