CAIRO -18 April 2024: The European Union (EU)’s Arabic Spokesperson for the Middle East and North Africa, Luis Miguel Bueno, has praised the essential role played by Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
Europe clearly rejects any Israeli attack on the Palestinian city of Rafah, Bueno told AlQahera News channel on Thursday, warning that any military operation against the Gaza Strip will lead to a deadly humanitarian catastrophe.
The official added that there is a consensus among EU states on the necessity of exercising restraint and stopping escalation in Gaza, calling on the Israeli occupation state to immediately cease fire and deliver humanitarian aid to civilians
Meanwhile, Bueno said that what is going on in the region between Iran, Israel, and other parties is unprecedented tension.
