CAIRO - 6 April 2024: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday witnessed a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Awqaf on the occasion of Lailatul Qadr at Al Manara International Conference Center in New Cairo.
The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb and Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and a host of ministers and clergymen.
During his speech, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the blessed night of Lailatul Qadr , with all the great religious and spiritual meanings it carries, "is a renewed annual date for extracting the great meanings, because God’s abundant giving is closely linked to righteousness, loyalty, and diligence... with the certainty of winning God’s satisfaction, so do not hope for goodness and forgiveness from God “Almighty” without work and struggle.
Sisi further stressed that these meanings are what we need most today in light of the difficulties and challenges we face, and the sincere sons of Egypt seek, each in their own field, to overcome them, offering sacrifices for the sake of Egypt’s security, safety, and elevation.
"Today, as we celebrate this sacred night, I extend my heartfelt prayers to Allah the Almighty to preserve our homeland, bless the efforts of its loyal sons, accept our martyrs and envelop them in His perfect mercy. I pray for the divine guidance to lead and bless us for the greater good and benefit of our dear homeland," Sisi said.
He also extended congratulations to the memorizers of the Quran, and his greetings to Grand Imam of Al Azhar, as well as the sincere scholars of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Awqaf Ministry, who are dedicated to rectifying misconceptions about the tolerant Islamic faith and its moderate and balanced approach, while combating extremism and fanaticism and confronting distorted ideology.
This came during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s speech on the occasion of the celebration of Lailatul Qadr at the Manara Convention Center on Saturday.
President Sisi affirmed Egypt's solidarity with Palestinian brothers in Gaza Strip, stressing that Egypt will not hesitate to exert every effort to stop the fighting and work to deliver aid to the strip.
He also signaled Egypt’s firm position in striving tirelessly towards the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state per the 1967 borders, with its capital as East Jerusalem.
